Encounters

WHALES

Every year, between August and November, humpback whales travel about 3,000 miles from the Antarctic to the warm tropical waters of the South Pacific to mate and give birth. Tahiti Dive Management is an Official Operator licensed by the Polynesian government to offer encounters with these giants of the sea, both from the boat and in the water! We work in collaboration with NPO, OCEANIA and other marine biologists so that our observations contribute to local scientific knowledge.

Tahiti Dive Management Sharks

SHARKS

In 2006, French Polynesia became the first country in the world to introduce measures to protect the shark population, thereby creating the biggest shark sanctuary in the world! We can observe more than 12 different species throughout French Polynesia, and each archipelago offers its own unique encounters. As an active member of the Polynesia Shark Observatory, our experts will take you as close as possible to the sharks. We also run conferences so that you can learn more about iconic sharks such as the Tiger and the Great Hammerhead!

DOLPHINS

In 2002, the Ministry of the Environment created the “Marine Mammal Sanctuary of French Polynesia,” which gave dolphins special protection. All year round we can observe the three main species of dolphin; bottlenose, spinner and rough-toothed in their natural environment. In Rangiroa you can easily dive with bottlenoses at Tiputa Pass, where they like to sidle up beside you to say, “Hello!”

Tahiti Dive Management Mantas

MANTAS

Probably one of the most majestic fish in the world. The true legend of scuba diving. They often gather at a cleaning station, or in other areas where there is a high concentration of plankton. All species of mantas can be found throughout French Polynesia, from the Society Islands to the Marquesas. Since 2015, Tahiti Dive Management has worked with the ORP and Manta Trust data base in order to study the population of manta rays in the region.

Boat Rental

Our tenders are available to hire as support on individual dives, or for the whole of your visit to French Polynesia. They are fully equipped and can accompany your main vessel, giving you the freedom to explore areas that may otherwise be inaccessible for larger yachts. Our tenders are crewed by Tahiti Dive Management to guarantee the level of service required by your guests.
